    Full Works: Demolition to Construction

    Our latest project in Huddersfield showcases a complete site transformation from the ground up. The works began with the demolition of an existing building, followed by a reduced dig to prepare the site for new construction. To manage the terrain, we installed a Lego block retaining wall alongside a full drainage system and new service connections.

    Once the groundwork was completed, we poured a reinforced concrete slab, laying the foundation for the new structure. This week marked a major milestone as the building frame went up, bringing the vision to life.

    All that remains is external cladding, site tidying, and landscaping to complete the project. We're proud of the progress and excited to see the final result take shape.

    Demolition

    Our team recently completed the full demolition of the old Saint Peter’s Church Hall in Lymm. The project began with a comprehensive soft strip of the building, followed by the safe removal of cement fibre roof sheets containing asbestos, carried out in full compliance with health and safety regulations.

    We then proceeded to remove all pre-cast concrete panels and carefully dismantled the steel frame structure, which was preserved for future reuse—aligning with our commitment to sustainable practices.

    Following the structural demolition, we undertook a reduced level excavation, systematically segregating hardcore and spoil materials to ensure cost-effective removal and minimal environmental impact.

    All stages of the project were completed in-house by our skilled team, allowing for efficient coordination and timely completion of the works.

    Walling

    This project involved replacing a section of boundary flags with a new wall built using reclaimed stone in Sowerby Bridge. The reclaimed materials were carefully selected to blend with the surrounding environment and maintain the area's traditional character. The new wall not only improves the overall appearance but also enhances the long-term stability and definition of the boundary.

    We also recently carried out a separate project with similar stonework and structural adjustments in Clitheroe, focused on extending a driveway by repositioning an existing wall.
